Our client is currently seeking an experience Kitchen Hand to work in their clients within Aged Care facility providing quality food services to the residents.

Our client isa 50 bed aged care facility catering for all nationalities and denominations and are currently recruiting an experienced Kitchen hand to work casually on weekends and occasional weekdays. Weekend casual shifts are from 10am to 2pm and weekday shiofts are 9am to 2pm. 

This role will provide a high quality of service to residents by ensuring a clean kitchen is maintained and quality service is provided.

Your main duties will be to assist our chef in preparing and storing food as well as attending to all cleaning tasks.

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Food Handling Experience is desired
  • Worked in Aged care before
  • The ability to be flexible, take direction and ability to work as a part of a team
  • Understand health and safety procedures
  • Excellent customer service and organisational skills
  • Hardworking, enthusiastic, and positive attitude
  • Ability to work in a team or independently

Your responsibilities include;

  • Assisting the chef in all kitchen and cooking duties
  • Washing and cleaning utensils and dishes and ensuring appropriate storage
  • Handling, sorting, storing and distributing food items
  • Serving food to residents
  • Washing, peeling, choping, cutting and cooking, along with assisting with preparing salads and desserts
  • Sorting and disposing of rubbish and recycling
  • Cleaning and setting up of the dining area for all meals
