Our client works alongside individuals of all ages across Victoria, providing support to those in our community who are experiencing disadvantage or hardship.

As a result of an increase in their workload our client is currently seeking a Family Services Practitioner to support families who are experiencing difficulties that impact on parenting and family life. We currently have several other Social Work roles similar to this one. To be successful in this role your must have;

  • A Tertiary Qualification in Social Work, Psychology or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience within a family services role implementing plans and making sharp assessments plans to meet family and client needs
  • Experience working with those impacted by family violence, substance abuse, physical and mental health issues
  • Demonstrated knowledge in risk assessment of children, young people and families and planning interventions that address risk and promote self determination
  • Understanding the legislative requirements of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and the Best Interests Framework
  • The ability to plan and coordinate case work in line with case plans objectives and timeframes
  • Prior experience liaising with and negotiate with DHHS Child Protection in relation to addressing protective concerns for children
  • Previous experience in thorough and precise case noting
  • A valid Driver’s Licence and Employment Working with Children’s Check
  • Willing to undergo a National Police Check

Your responsibilities will include;

  • Providing an outreach service to children, young people and families with complex needs that is flexible and creative
  • Coordinating and implementing tailored assessment and short-term intervention designed to enhance family functioning and client outcomes
  • On going analysis of the child’s safety and wellbeing
  • Supporting families through the provision of responsive group work
  • Working cohesively with other agencies and a multi-disciplinary team to advocate on behalf of your clients and their needs
