KLC Recruitment implemented its first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in 2018 using the Reflect model, which is designed to get organisations started by scoping reconciliation.
Some of the goals achieved by KLC Recruitment through this RAP framework include progressing a comprehensive cultural awareness program for all staff, acknowledgement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander events of significance, developing a relationship with the Wurundjeri people, the traditional owners of the land on which our office is located, and creating the Indigenous Procurement Policy to stimulate Indigenous Australians and Torres Straight Islanders with more opportunities to participate in employment.
The RAP is a living document and KLC is in the process of moving to the next step - developing an Innovate RAP, which involved implementing reconciliation.
Our goals for our Innovate RAP includes developing and strengthening relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, engaging staff and stakeholders in reconciliation, and developing and piloting innovative strategies to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Reconciliation matters and reconciliation is gained by individuals who take on their own reconciliation journey and share learnings and experiences with others. Reconciliation matters to KLC Recruitment. It matters that all employees are treating each other with respect and honesty and are working to achieve a common goal. KLC Recruitment continues to make a deliberate and conscious effort to connect Indigenous Australians and Torres Straight Islanders to work and to grow.
